Total revenue surged 25% to $12.39 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, up from $9.94 billion in the prior-year period. Operating income rose to $2.74 billion from $2.24 billion, a gain of 22%.
The company generated $1.82 billion in cash from operations during the quarter, up from $1.51 billion in the first quarter of 2025. Cash used in investing activities increased to $919 million from $317 million, while cash used in financing activities rose to $2.83 billion from $2.28 billion.
Balance Sheet and Equity
Total assets stood at $128.45 billion as of March 31, 2026, down from $130.17 billion at year-end 2025. Cash and restricted cash declined to $10.98 billion from $12.39 billion over the same period. Inventory increased to $12.37 billion from $11.87 billion.
Total liabilities decreased to $110.15 billion from $111.27 billion. Stockholders' equity fell to $18.06 billion from $18.68 billion at the end of 2025. Retained earnings rose to $89.07 billion from $87.66 billion.
Common shares outstanding declined to 1.04 billion as of March 31, 2026, from 1.05 billion at year-end 2025. The weighted average share count for diluted earnings calculations was 1.05 billion shares in the first quarter, down from 1.08 billion in the prior-year period.
Operating Expenses
Research and development expenses increased to $440 million in the first quarter of 2026 from $359 million a year earlier. Selling, general, and administrative expenses rose to $1.08 billion from $876 million.
Income tax expense for the quarter was $252 million, down from $283 million in the first quarter of 2025.
