Revenue climbed 3.7% to $5.95 billion from $5.74 billion in the year-earlier quarter. Cost of goods sold increased to $2.36 billion from $2.23 billion, pushing gross profit to $3.59 billion compared to $3.51 billion in the prior-year period.
Operating income advanced to $1.34 billion from $1.27 billion, while operating margin improved as the company controlled expense growth. Research and development spending totaled $387 million, up slightly from $379 million, and selling, general and administrative expenses held nearly flat at $1.86 billion versus $1.88 billion.
The company generated $1.32 billion in cash from operations during the quarter, compared to $1.30 billion in the prior-year period. Cash used in investing activities totaled $249 million, while financing activities provided $46 million. That contrasted with the year-earlier quarter when financing activities consumed $1.26 billion.
Danaher ended the quarter with $5.70 billion in cash and restricted cash, up from $4.62 billion at the close of fiscal 2025. Total debt stood at $18.48 billion as of March 27, 2026, essentially unchanged from $18.42 billion at year-end 2025. Long-term debt declined to $17.56 billion from $18.42 billion.
Total assets edged up to $83.54 billion from $83.46 billion at the end of fiscal 2025. Stockholders' equity increased to $52.95 billion from $52.53 billion. The company had 707.7 million common shares outstanding as of quarter-end.
Income tax expense for the quarter was $206 million compared to $175 million in the prior-year period. The weighted average diluted share count decreased to 711.2 million from 720.8 million.
