Full Year 2025 Financial Performance
The dividend declaration comes as Weyco reported challenges across most of its business segments in 2025. North American retail net sales declined 8% to $35.7 million from $38.7 million in 2024, primarily driven by lower direct-to-consumer sales across its footwear brands.
Florsheim Australia's net sales remained flat at $23.7 million compared to $23.6 million in the prior year. In local currency terms, sales increased 2%, driven by growth in retail operations. The Australian unit posted an operating loss of $0.7 million in 2025 compared to a $0.2 million loss in 2024.
The company's effective tax rate rose to 28.0% in 2025 from 23.9% in 2024. The increase reflected a charge to establish a valuation allowance on Florsheim Australia's deferred tax assets.
Chairman and CEO Thomas W. Florsheim, Jr. said Florsheim delivered its strongest annual wholesale sales performance to date, driven by momentum in the dress-shoe category. He noted that other brands faced headwinds from soft consumer demand and retailers' cautious inventory approach amid tariff-related uncertainty. The company maintained profitability through price increases and cost-management initiatives.
