The company posted operating income of $3.21 billion, a 24% increase from $2.58 billion in the prior-year quarter. Gross profit expanded to $10.73 billion from $9.99 billion, while cost of goods sold climbed to $8.71 billion from $7.93 billion.
Earnings per share came in at $1.70 on a diluted basis, compared to $1.33 in the quarter ending March 22, 2025. The company had 1.37 billion diluted shares outstanding, down from 1.38 billion a year earlier.
Selling, general and administrative expenses edged up to $7.52 billion from $7.41 billion. Interest expense increased to $301 million from $264 million in the year-ago period.
Cash from operations totaled $41 million for the quarter, a sharp reversal from negative $973 million in the same quarter last year. Cash from investing activities was negative $477 million, an improvement from negative $1.23 billion. Cash from financing activities brought in $1.66 billion, down from $1.77 billion.
The company held $10.48 billion in cash and cash equivalents as of March 21, 2026, up from $9.16 billion at fiscal year-end December 27, 2025. Total assets rose to $110.65 billion from $107.40 billion at year-end.
Inventory stood at $6.21 billion, up from $5.85 billion. Property, plant and equipment totaled $29.81 billion, slightly down from $29.91 billion. Goodwill increased to $19.02 billion from $18.92 billion.
Total liabilities climbed to $89.11 billion from $86.85 billion. Stockholders' equity rose to $21.38 billion from $20.41 billion at year-end. Retained earnings increased to $73.17 billion from $72.79 billion.
