Business Segment Performance
Northwest Natural Holding operates through multiple utility segments. NWN Gas Utility net income rose $7.5 million, or $0.15 per share, driven by new rates from an Oregon rate case that took effect Oct. 31, 2025. The increase was partially offset by higher depreciation and property taxes from system investments.
The company expanded its operations through two acquisitions in 2025. SiEnergy Gas Utility was acquired Jan. 7, 2025, and Pines on June 2, 2025. The SiEnergy segment contributed net income of $5.7 million, or $0.13 per share, reflecting customer growth and system investments.
NWN Water Utility net income increased $2.4 million, or $0.06 per share, primarily from strong organic customer growth. The gain was partially offset by higher operations, maintenance and depreciation expenses.
The company's other business activities posted a higher net loss of $2.8 million, or $0.07 per share. The increased loss stemmed primarily from higher interest expense related to financings completed in December 2024 and March 2025, partially offset by stronger contributions from NW Natural Renewables.
Northwest Natural Holding has operated for more than 167 years. The company owns Northwest Natural Gas Company, a natural gas utility serving the Pacific Northwest; SiEnergy Operating, a natural gas utility in Texas markets; and NW Natural Water Company, a water and wastewater utility.
