Nano Nuclear Energy Posts $6.5M Loss as Operating Expenses Triple in Q1 2026

Nano Nuclear Energy reported a net loss of $6.5 million for the three months ending December 31, 2025, up 109% from a $3.1 million loss in the same quarter of the prior fiscal year. Research and development spending drove much of the increase, rising to $5.4 million from $904,923 in the year-ago quarter. The company reported no revenue for the period.

Cash from operations was negative $4.0 million in the quarter, compared with negative $3.2 million in the prior-year period. Cash from investing activities totaled negative $3.1 million, down from negative $3.6 million a year earlier.

Financing activities generated $381.3 million during the quarter, up sharply from $101.6 million in the same period last year. The company ended the quarter with $577.5 million in cash and cash equivalents, up from $203.3 million at September 30, 2025.

Total assets stood at $606.1 million as of December 31, 2025, more than doubling from $228.7 million at the end of the prior quarter. Current assets rose to $580.8 million from $204.7 million in the same period.

Stockholders' equity climbed to $599.6 million from $222.6 million at September 30, 2025. Additional paid-in capital increased to $663.6 million from $280.1 million, reflecting the capital raised during the quarter.

The company's accumulated deficit widened to $64.0 million from $57.5 million at the prior quarter-end. Common shares outstanding increased to 50.6 million from 41.7 million shares.

Loss per share was $0.13 on both a basic and diluted basis, compared with $0.09 per share in the year-ago quarter. The weighted average share count rose to 49.8 million from 34.0 million shares.

Total liabilities were $6.5 million as of December 31, 2025, up modestly from $6.1 million at September 30, 2025. Current liabilities stood at $4.3 million, compared with $3.8 million at the prior quarter-end.

Other income for the quarter totaled $5.0 million, up from $810,381 in the same period last year. Property, plant and equipment rose to $11.0 million from $9.8 million at the end of the prior quarter.
