Kinder Morgan Posts $976M Q1 Profit on 15% Revenue Gain

Total revenue climbed 14% to $4.83 billion from $4.24 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2025. Operating income for the quarter reached $1.44 billion, compared to $1.15 billion in the prior-year period, a gain of 26%.
The company generated $1.49 billion in cash from operations during the quarter, up from $1.16 billion a year earlier. Cash used in investing activities totaled $803 million, down sharply from $1.41 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2025. Financing activities consumed $617 million in cash, a reversal from the $333 million generated in the year-ago quarter.
Kinder Morgan's balance sheet showed total assets of $73.07 billion as of March 31, 2026, up slightly from $72.75 billion at the end of December 2025. Long-term debt decreased to $29.87 billion from $30.78 billion at year-end. Total stockholders' equity stood at $31.32 billion, compared to $31.16 billion three months earlier.
Current liabilities rose to $5.18 billion from $4.32 billion at the end of 2025. The company held $72 million in cash and cash equivalents as of March 31, 2026, up from $63 million at year-end.
Property, plant and equipment totaled $39.70 billion, compared to $39.33 billion at the end of December. Goodwill remained flat at $20.08 billion. The company had 2.22 billion shares outstanding at quarter-end.
